Step away from the noise of daily life and enter a space of silence, clarity, and deep inner transformation at the Vipassana Retreat with Anthony Markwell, held at Indriya Retreat on the peaceful island of Koh Phangan, Thailand.

This immersive 16-day retreat is designed for those seeking a genuine experience of mindfulness, inner stillness, and emotional healing through intensive meditation practice. Surrounded by tropical nature, fruit trees, and the calming atmosphere of the island, participants are invited to disconnect from the constant flow of information, slow down, and reconnect with themselves in silence.

Throughout the retreat, participants practice Satipatthana Vipassana — the Four Foundations of Mindfulness — through alternating sessions of sitting meditation, walking meditation, meditative yoga, Dharma talks, and guided instructions. The program is secular and free from religious rituals, focusing entirely on training awareness, concentration, and emotional balance. The retreat follows a structured daily schedule that supports deep practice, clarity of mind, and the cultivation of presence.

Anthony Markwell is a highly respected meditation teacher from Australia with more than three decades of experience in Buddhist practice and Vipassana meditation. After arriving in Thailand in the early 1990s, Anthony ordained as a Buddhist monk and spent over 10 years in monastic life practicing and teaching meditation in Thailand and Myanmar. He later became a resident teacher at Wat Kow Tahm monastery, where he guided thousands of students through silent retreats. Today, he is the founder and resident teacher of Indriya Retreat, sharing the teachings of mindfulness with warmth, clarity, and deep understanding of the Pali Canon and Buddhist psychology.
