Rosemary and Steve Weissman

In 1987, Rosemary and Steve traveled to Koh Phangan Island, Thailand, to the international meditation center Wat Kow Tahm (Mountain Cave Monastery).
Originally, they intended to stay there for only three weeks of personal practice. However, because they carried a letter of introduction from a prominent abbot of another monastery, they were warmly welcomed by the head nun, Mae Chee Ahmon.
Since many travelers wished to learn meditation, she asked Rosemary and Steve to begin teaching.
As interest in meditation continued to grow, she encouraged them to begin leading structured retreats.
Thus, in May 1988, they conducted their first 10-day meditation retreat.
For 25 years, Rosemary and Steve served as resident teachers at Wat Kow Tahm, teaching more than:
8,000 students
from 85 countries around the world
In March 2013, they led their final retreat at the center and returned to Australia.
Today they continue teaching:
on the Gold Coast (Australia)
and at two retreat centers in Europe
